What are legal document preparation services?

Legal documents, including divorce papers, child custody papers and deeds, have a detailed process that must be strictly adhered to when preparing and filing the documents. If legal documents are not prepared and filed correctly and without the attention to detail required, the results could be costly.

Many people think they must hire an attorney to have their legal documents correctly prepared and filed. However, hiring an attorney can be very expensive. Often, legal papers can be prepared without spending the money on an attorney. When you have uncontested legal matters that require legal documents, choose to use a legal document service instead of a lawyer. A legal document service can properly prepare the needed legal documents in a timely fashion, allowing you to file them yourself and completely bypass the need for a lawyer. Hiring a legal document service can save you a lot of time and money!

It is important to note that a legal document service is not meant to replace the services of an attorney. Instead, a legal document service is used to supplement the do-it-yourself process. Legal document services cannot provide you with legal advice. However these services do ensure that your legal documents will be prepared accurately and thoroughly.

Using a legal document service offers many advantages. When you need your documents ready quickly and accurately within a short timeframe, I & E Solutions – Document Preparation Service can help. We offer the services of a highly trained and professional team who will handle your documents quickly and accurately. When you use our document preparation services you will know that your documents are properly handled and professionally prepared.

When can I use legal document services?

When preparing legal documents you generally have two options:

  • Hire an attorney
  • Take the “do it yourself” approach

Hiring an attorney, as stated before, can be expensive, even for a small service such as preparing a few documents. Lawyers can charge high hourly fees to complete forms and also work with very busy schedules, meaning that your documents may not be prepared when you need them. When dealing with lawyers it can often take several meetings to properly discuss and finalize the legal documents.

Because of the expense and time associated with hiring a lawyer, many people facing uncontested legal issues decide to take the “do it yourself” approach when preparing their legal documents. Sometimes people take a completely “do it yourself” approach and purchase legal document software to help prepare the legal documents by themselves. However, software is often outdated and does not stay current with local court rules or know how to tackle more complex issues. Because of this, the software may not be able to complete your legal documents correctly.

When you want to take the “do it yourself” approach, you do not actually have to do it all by yourself. When you need help with documents and you do not want to hire a lawyer or use outdated and unreliable software, take advantage of a document preparation service like I & E Solutions. Even though I & E Solutions is a document preparation service rather than a law office, our team can help you with your document preparation needs. By using our services, you can save hundreds of dollars and know that your documents have been prepared and filed correctly!

Are there qualifications for being a legal document assistant or preparer?

Legal document preparer or assistant is the term used to describe any person who “provides…for compensation, any self-help service to a member of the public who is representing himself or herself in a legal matter, or who holds himself or herself out as someone who offers that service or has that authority…” according to California Business Professional Codes 64006450.

Even though a legal document assistant is not a lawyer, there are several prerequisites that certified legal document assistants must have including:

A certificate of completion from a paralegal program approved by the American Bar Association.

Registration with the County Clerk accompanied by a bond of no less than $25,000.00.

I & E Solutions offers the help of professional staff members who have experience working as paralegals and legal document assistants for over a decade. We are not attorneys. We can only provide self-help services at your direction. Services are provided at customer’s request and are not a substitute for advice of a lawyer.
I & E Solutions is owned and operated by a Registered and Bonded Legal Document Assistant.
